Eyes

I was reading "Aha" by Kyle Idleman and I just saw something in Chapter 4 about how sometimes we just have to be still and trust that He is God. His plan for our lives is infinitely better than the plan for our own lives because He knows so much more about our lives than we could ever know. I think that Kyle puts it into perspective in a way that I don't really know how, so if you haven't, I would check out his book. Now that we're done with the product placement of a man I admire a great deal - let's get into what this week is really about: looking through God's eyes.

This goes hand in hand with yesterday's talking point: how we are the hands and feet of Jesus, but this is all about seeing through His eyes. We are never going to be able to see completely through God's eyes - but we can see others how He sees us, with love and compassion. I think that it's pretty simple, but overall can feel like an impossible task to do and what do we do with impossible tasks? Break the tasks into parts. Every part is going to be different for every person and I don't have a clear guideline because I don't think there is one - we are all at different places in our lives and to say that there is one clear plan that works would be lying and not true, but I think that one thing that helps a whole lot is accountability. Accountability that we are doing all our actions in love, that everything we do is done with love and when we help someone, it's done with love. Matthew 6:22 puts it like this(This is still the Sermon on the Mount) and says, "The eye is the lamp of the body. So, if your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light." If you can't see the world in light, then aren't you just blind? But even blind people can usually make out light in some fashion.
