Being Grateful and Leadership

Here are 3 quotes from this week: “Great Leaders Create More Leaders. Good leaders have vision and inspire others to help them turn vision into reality. Great leaders create more leaders, not followers. Great leaders have vision, share vision, and inspire others to create their own.”

― Roy T. Bennett, The Light in the Heart

“Let us be grateful to the people who make us happy; they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.”

― Marcel Proust

“Is your glass half empty or half full?" asked the mole.

"I think I'm grateful to have a glass," said the boy.”

― Charlie Mackesy, The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse

Be grateful for those that are feeding into you and those you are feeding into. Lately, I've been forgetting to be grateful for those around me in my pursuit to be better. I get so caught up in wanting to be better that I don't appreciate what I have at this present moment.

2 Quotes for the Question I'm about to ask: “In life you have to learn to count the good days. You have to tuck them in your pocket and carry them around with you. So I’m putting today in my pocket and I’m off to bed.”

― Richard Osman, The Thursday Murder Club

“Live. Have courage. Be a good friend. Always be grateful.”

― Amy Harmon, Making Faces

1 Question for this week: Who can you say thank you to this week?

Failure Journal:

I forgot to eat before a presentation which made me shaky and the presentation did not go as well as I had hoped. In the future, I am going to eat something before even if it takes time away from preparing for the presentation.

My video didn't turn out as well as I had hoped. I didn't spend as much time on my projects as I would have wanted.

I failed at bowling and at billiards. I got too heated, angry, and competitive and it affected both my game and how much fun I had. In my pursuit of being the best, I forgot to take into account the people around me and I need to fix that because the people aspect should be the most important, not me "being the best." This goes back into being grateful for those around me and being better about just staying in the moment.

Successes: The weather outside was nice and I got to take time off to enjoy it. All my presentations are done and I am basically done with school. I also got to meet with people and found a bit more clarity with who I am and also where I want to go.
