Burnout, Work-Life Balance, and Love

Hey guys,

This week's main theme is burnout and work-life balance. This has been a big theme in my life recently and so I wanted to share a few quotes that have stuck out to me in the past week.

3 Quotes For Thought:

"Burnout is not about giving too much of yourself. It's about trying to give what you do not possess."

-Joseph Campbell

"You can't truly be considered successful in your business life if your home life is in shambles."

-Zig Ziglar

"Working hard for something we don't care about is called stress. Working hard for something we love is called passion."

-Simon Sinek

2 Quotes for the Question I'm going to ask:

"Each person deserves a day away in which no problems are confronted, no solutions searched for. Each of us needs to withdraw from the cares which will not withdraw from us.” – Maya Angelou

"Taking time to do nothing often brings everything into perspective."

-Doe Zantamata

1 Question for this Week:

Are you taking time away from the doing to think about the doing? Or are you just going and going and going, not taking the proper time to make sure that what you're doing is right?

One thought that's really stuck in my head this week is this thought of "Whatever that quote is saying, the reverse is usually also true and you need to pick and choose what is important for you right now." We hear so many quotes on working hard and just doing it, but this week I wanted to focus on the thinking and planning of doing it. That's been a big focus of me this week. This semester I feel like I've just been going and haven't taken the proper time to think about where I'm going. I felt like I was driving a car with no destination in mind, but different landmarks that I needed to be passing. All these people around me had bucket lists and plans for what they had to see and I just had deadlines that I needed to get done and things that just kept piling up.

Thank you, Alex Risdall :)
