Hey guys,
Identity Crisis, something most people go through a few different times in their lifetimes because their “identity” gets attacked. We take so many things as part of our identity - sexuality, gender, race. I think that making one of these part of identities is why people get so upset at others that attack it because they feel like part of their identity is being attacked, even though that part of their identity was never supposed to be part of their identity, part of their individuality. I mean we look at all the racist hate crimes of individuals and that’s usually when someone puts race as part of their identity and then associates that identity as part of everyone else’s and then they “crucify” or “cleanse.” It sucks how much we put into our identity and that sometimes we just don’t have the right things as part of it. That’s part of the problem with society today - that they pull everything so close to them and, while that is good, it also stops them from being able to look at it. They’re like Icarus flying too close to the sun and getting blinded by the sun that they can never see how high they’ve gone.
