Immediacy

I wasn't going to write this tonight, but God was like "hey Alex, you need to get up and write this," so here I am. Immediacy. Why do we, as humans, overcomplicate everything? I read this great quote from Aha by Kyle Idleman, "It may not be easy, but it's simple." We need to stop overcomplicating what God is trying to say and just do it - even if it's not easy because it's what God wills us to do. I was reading in James that people that plan for something ahead of time are prideful because they assume that God is going to let them see that day. James 4:15 says "Instead, you ought to say, 'If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.'” I think that this verse is beautiful and should be a reminder that our lives are God's, not our own. Everything we do should be in harmony with God's will and not our own. That's why I'm up right now and not getting sleep, that's why Abram was able to become Abraham. A lot of the new testament, we see doubts, but we also see people that got up IMMEDIATELY. Why wait? Why overcomplicate it when it's simple, it may not be easy but it's simple. Don't overthink it and just do it because you don't need to overthink it, you just need to do it. Jump in. Go for it. You got this. If God's put something on your heart, go out and do it because tomorrow isn't promised. One thing that I keep repeating to myself is "life is too short for this or that." I usually say this when I'm worried about something that doesn't really mean anything and is just wasting my energy. Let's go.
