"I'm going to do my best and let God do the rest." - this sort of just came to me today as I was thinking about all that was happening in Ukraine. I wanted to do something and I don't know what exactly yet, but this quote came to me and I knew that I just needed to let it go and let God do the rest. I still need to do something, but somethings are out of my control. I'm still trying to come to terms with that. There's so much that needs to be done, that needs fixing and I'm still working on the best way to do that - working on one goal, but something needs to be done NOW. I talked about immediacy earlier and I stick by that because the Holy Spirit doesn't wait, He starts RIGHT NOW. We put out things that we might not see the impact now, but we do things everyday that might have ramifications way down the line - I just remember an episode of Girl Meets World where Eric's almost adoptee came back and helped him win an election. We do things everyday and it's the small things that affect the big things. One of the best quotes I've ever heard that has shaped my life is "If you can't do the small things right, you will never get the big things right." - William H. McRaven. I'm reading a book right now called "When God Winks at You" and I recommend it to anyone that's willing to read it, but basically it's about coincidences in life that reflect God's timing and it's just a bunch of stories that show God's amazing timing and how He uses coincidences.
