Mundane love

Sometimes I wish that love wasn’t a choice, that it was this magical thing that could transcend over anything and I think that we do stuff for love, but sometimes it feels like we use it as an excuse, “we do crazy things for love.” We do crazy things because of love, sure, but blaming it on love and not yourself frames it in a different way because love doesn’t have to be crazy, it usually isn’t crazy. You find love in the mundane, in the Tuesdays, in the Summer rain where you can just look over at them and smile, where you can just dance with them in the rain and know that it’s all going to be okay. Love is in the mundane and the “normal” moments. I read a quote once and it was just “you build relationships in the ‘filler moments,’ the start of meetings where you talk to your coworkers waiting, the car rides where you jam out together, the line that never seems to end. Relationships aren’t built in a moment, it’s a series of moments where you just talk.” Love is found in the ordinary, and one day you wake up and realize that today is extra ordinary, which makes it extraordinary because this person that you love so much is there and willing to continue to be there.
