Self-Care

Self-care is one of the most important things in the world and I know it's easy to forget about because there's so many other things happening in our lives. I think that this quote says that really well because we should give the world the best of us and we can't do that if we're running ourselves thin 24/7 and not giving yourself time to relax. If we run ourselves ragged then we won't give out our best work and we'll make mistakes, which are usually easily avoidable.

Self-care is probably the easiest thing in the world to forget because, eventually, you just become numb to it. If you don't eat, but you're in the middle of something and you're just like "I'll eat later." That doesn't work because your stomach usually stops feeling hungry soon and you'll forget to eat. I should know, it happens to me a lot more than I would like it to. I think that self-care is one of the best things a person can do because it's taking care of yourself, so you can help take care of the world.

Self-care is important because if you run yourself thin, like one of my friends did, then you could end up in the hospital and not be able to help anyone. It's important because it doesn't just affect you, it affects everyone around you and you might think that you're "helping" people by not talking about your problems. This is not true because it will come back to bite you and they might worry more about you if you don't open up, which would be counterproductive.
