This song came on today and I really wanted to talk about it because I love it so much, it describes so many of my feelings and it's really special to me. I found this song a few years back, but I didn't know what it was from and then I listened to the rest of the soundtrack last year. If you don't know, this is from the play: "Dear Evan Hansen," which also just had a movie come out. I love this song because it describes how we all talk through screens and how the protagonist, Evan Hansen, won't ever come out of his shell because he keeps getting burned by the sun. This song means so much to me because sometimes I don't know if I'll ever be able to live my life or be able to really see the sun without getting burned, but I want to try. I want to try to see the sun and not wave through a window - whether that window is a screen or if it's just looking outside and wishing I could go out without my brain telling me no. This song reminds me that I want to live, that I want to be more than myself and be enough for someone. I hope that you have a song like that, I have a few if you want to try them.
