Hey guys,
This song is from Hamilton, I know that we talked about Hamilton recently, but that was really vague and I was just thinking a lot about legacies today and what we leave behind when we leave. You have no way to control who tells what you did after you're dead, you have no control over who lives or who dies or who's able to tell your story. Life goes by so fast, you might as well make a lasting impression on the people around you and that will be enough to spread. Your legacy will take care of itself if you focus on who you are and the people around you. Spread love to all those around you and watch your life change. I don't know who's going to live to tell "my story," but at the end of the day, I'm dead either way. I'm not saying that we shouldn't focus on the future or on what our actions reap because I truly believe that we need to make a better world for the future generations. Don't let our hubris stop us from helping the kids, it should always be about the kids. I don't want anyone to give up their own dreams or their own lives, they were kids once too, but I'm saying that if you impede on the future generations then what's the point. If you achieve your goal at all costs and just destroy anyone in your path, then you're going to be very lonely at the top with a lot of enemies. I think that people will always hate, but giving them a reason to hate is a different story entirely - like you completely ruined their life. People make mistakes, we are still people after all, but we keep going and you can make it right. Who lives, who dies, who tells your story. It's not up to us, it's up to God. Live a life that you don't regret and your story will be told. Love you guys.
